DUO Broadband begins 2025 with expanded functionality and enhanced security for the YOUDUO app, the smartphone app that connects to the GigaSpire BLAST router to control your DUO Max WiFi network. These services are free and included in the latest version of the YOUDUO app.
The new “Experience IQ” allows subscribers to easily create and enforce online rules for the users and devices in their home networks. “Protect IQ” allows users to lock down all entry points to the home network and keep users safe from thousands of attacks and breaches of privacy.
“These improvements to our managed WiFi system make what was an already useful tool significantly more powerful,” said Eric West, Director of Business Operations for DUO Broadband. “With most devices accessing the Internet wirelessly, having control of what content, when, and who can access your home WiFi is important, and these improvements are giving users a tremendous degree of control. This is especially valuable and important for parents.”
Experience IQ allows subscribers to easily create online rules for the users and devices in their home networks. Additionally, the app provides information on the amount of time subscribers spend on the applications they have been authorized to use.
Experience IQ includes a comprehensive list of apps that can be either blocked or allowed for each user profile, or you can search for a specific app and then either allow or block it for specific network devices. Experience IQ lets parents schedule times during which internet access will be blocked. For each profile, subscribers can specify the days of the week and times of day when the internet will be unavailable to users.
“We’re really proud to offer these enhancements free of charge to our Max WiFi users,” said Tom Preston, DUO Broadband CEO. “We are seeing other providers charge a monthly subscription fee for these features, but we felt the security and control were important enough to make them part of our free app.”
