We gave Eric West a proper DUO Broadband sendoff today! After 27 years of service, friends, family, and coworkers gathered to celebrate with Eric as he begins his retirement next week. CEO Tom Preston expressed his appreciation for Eric’s work in marketing and business development, and best wishes for his future endeavors.
Consumer advocates and cybersecurity experts are warning the public about a growing threat tied to low-cost, off-brand streaming boxes that promise free access to movies, television, and live sports. According to multiple security firms, many of these devices arrive preloaded with malware capable of compromising home networks and personal data.
DUO Broadband has received multiple reports of home network issues related to the installation of such devices. Customer calls often begin with complaints such as, “I’m having trouble streaming on my TV.” After further troubleshooting, DUO technicians frequently discover that customers are using untrustworthy streaming devices, including “jailbroken” Fire Sticks—Amazon Fire TV Sticks that have been modified to bypass Amazon’s default software restrictions—as well as Superboxes and other off-brand streaming devices purchased locally or online.

Tristan Bonnstetter gave an overview of our 70+ years of service to the region, from party lines to dedicated fiber optic broadband, and Sherry Selby gave the audience DUO branded tote bags and held a drawing for prizes.
DUO Broadband begins 2025 with expanded functionality and enhanced security for the YOUDUO app, the smartphone app that connects to the GigaSpire BLAST router to control your DUO Max WiFi network. These services are free and included in the latest version of the YOUDUO app.
The new “Experience IQ” allows subscribers to easily create and enforce online rules for the users and devices in their home networks. “Protect IQ” allows users to lock down all entry points to the home network and keep users safe from thousands of attacks and breaches of privacy.
As DUO Broadband scales down our television service to be eliminated at the end of this year, certain services and channel offerings will be reduced as contracts and other resources expire.
On September 30, 2024 we will remove certain charges and many channels from our television service.
We were pleased to welcome Congressman James Comer at our Jamestown headquarters yesterday to discuss federal broadband funding for rural providers like DUO Broadband. Comer spoke specifically with members of our board of directors, our staff, and Tyler Campbell, the executive director of the Kentucky Rural Broadband Association, about the importance of sustainable universal service funding.

COLUMBIA, KY — An Adair County resident has been named a DUO Broadband Scholar at Lindsey Wilson College. Ada Gass of Gradyville, Kentucky, has received the Lindsey Wilson DUO Broadband Scholarship. Ada is majoring in nursing at Lindsey Wilson College.
The $3,000 tuition scholarship is given annually to a full-time Lindsey Wilson student in the Duo Broadband service area.
