Good News! DUO Broadband is switching to a new, more user-friendly customer care and billing service.
Effective with June 2024 billing, DUO Broadband will begin using our new billing software. What this means to our customers is an enhanced customer care experience and a new look for DUO Broadband billing statements designed to be an easier format to review.

Kentucky State Representative Josh Branscum was in Russell County recently to get a first-hand look at progress on the Jabez community fiber optic expansion. The project is bringing gigabit broadband to the rural area with funding from a state broadband grant and matching funds from DUO Broadband, for a project total of 6.7 million dollars. The broadband grant program that came from the Kentucky state legislature and signed into law in April of 2021 selected Jabez and other underserved communities for broadband projects.
“If there was anything good that came out of COVID, it’s that we’ve seen the importance of broadband,” said Branscum. “You start looking at telehealth, if our kids have to work remotely for school, businesses, and just the things we do daily in our homes like watching television, or just getting on the Internet. It’s just essential now.”

State and local officials, including the governor, were in Adair County this week to present much needed infrastructure grants. $7,244,132 was given to DUO Broadband to connect 378 unserved homes and businesses in Adair County with high-speed fiber Internet. The company will also contribute $3,104,628 in matching funds, bringing the total investment in this community to $10,348,760.

As dove hunting season is underway, this is an important reminder that damaging utility lines, even if unintentional, is against the law and can carry heavy penalties.
Already this season DUO Broadband has had to repair damaged fiber optic cable from shotgun strikes in our service area. Network outages and the expense of repairs affect all DUO Broadband customers.
Beyond the potential for criminal charges and the disruption of service to you and your neighbors, shooting birds sitting on utility lines is just poor sportsmanship — so please, just don’t.
Governor Beshear and the Kentucky Office of Broadband Development announced earlier this month the round two recipients of the Commonwealth’s Better Internet Grant Program. DUO Broadband was selected to receive $7.24 million in funding to bring fiber optic data services to 378 homes and businesses in Bliss community of Adair County.

DUO Broadband was proud to participate in the Russell County Library’s “Community Helpers” program this past Friday. The program is part of the library’s summer Family Fun Fridays to promote learning in the summer.
DUO Broadband brought a bucket truck and personnel to let the kids get an up close and personal view of this piece of machinery. “They just loved seeing the bucket truck up close and learning about how it is used,” said Ginger Stamp, RCPL Children’s Librarian. “I saw many children wearing their DUO County Bucket hats. Little things like that make their day.”
(more…)Burkesville resident Gauge Logan-Key is the winner of the 2023 DUO Broadband Lindsey Wilson scholarship. Gauge is the son of Dusty & Kasey Logan.
The $3,000 tuition scholarship is given annually to a first-time, full-time Lindsey Wilson freshman from DUO Broadband’s service area.
Brendan Carr, Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission visited Adair County on Tuesday to see first-hand how DUO Broadband is helping to build out high-speed fiber optic broadband to rural America. Carr said it was “Great to see the progress they’re making.”
The Commissioner reported that the “crew here in Adair County is building out high-speed internet to homes that only have copper DSL for broadband. They’re doing so with help from a 2020 award of $18 million.” As one of the first telecom’s in Kentucky to deploy fiber optic Internet, DUO Broadband was uniquely qualified to be part of this award.
